Dr.Gokulan,
It was really good reminiscing the greatness of India. Thanks for the forward. Hope you and every one there is doing good. Hope you are enjoying your new residence and hospital. I am very glad to say that my eye is doing very well now with your medications. I completely stopped the steroids for almost 2 months now.

I feel proud that our ancient Ayurveda has cured my eye what allopathic medicines could'nt do for me.

Case I

Mr.Manish Patel 26 M was using reading glasses since age of 11 as he was complaining of strain and head ache then. He reported at the Mumbai camp in December 2006 with Dr.Gokulan and a course of eye therapies were given to him. Review after 7 days therapy showed a very normal near vision (N-6)without glasses. He is advised NOT to use reading glasses any more.

Case II

Mrs.Rajamma 62 F a retired teacher(Ph.0469 2615687) from Thiruvalla(OPD No.4177/941 first reported at Sudarshanam on 3 September 2003 with the C/o. Defective vision both eyes. She was diabetic since 15 years. She was diagnosed to have non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy in both eyes and pan retinal laser photo coagulation was done to prevent leakages. Right eye was done with Phaco emulsification and IOL was implanted. She was under H.Insulin 16 u daily. There was mild cataract in her left eye. Her best corrected vision was 2/60 and 6/18+ in right and left eyes respectively. Her PPBS level was 242 mgm%.

She was given 7 days therapy at Sudarshanam besides oral herbal medicines and by the date of discharge her vision in the left eye improved to 6/6. Patient was reviewed after 1 month to find out the vision in right eye to be 6/18- and left eye 6/9+. After 2 months she was again reviewed to find her vision in right eye 6/12+ and left eye 6/9+.Mrs.Rajamma was reviewed after 1 year(9/9/2004)and her best corrected vision was found to be improved to 6/6 in both her eyes.

Case III
Deepumon 20 M from Kalanjoor bearing OPD No.4119/960 reported at Sudarshanam on 5 July 2003 with C/o.defective vision both eyes since child hood.He also presented with poor dark adaptation and dim light vision. Retina showed a number of pigments and pale waxy disc in his both eyes which was else where diagnosed as Retinits pigmentosa Sine pigmente. On admission his vision was 2/60 and 3/60 in right and left eye respectively

He was advised to undergo a course of Ayurvedic treatment for 14 days. After completing these treatments in a gap of almost an year his corrected vision was improved to 6/60 both eyes and dark adaptation was remarkably improved.

These cases have a range of 8 years and lesser period. How ever it is definitely an indicator to the capability of Ayurvedic medicines in controlling the ailments of eye.
