4th World Ayurveda Congress - 2010

Dr.B.G.Gokulan presented a documented report on successful cases of Macular Degeneration & Macular Edema treated at Sudarshanam at the main venue on the session of "Globalisation Ayurveda". The congress this time also witnessed the first GURU SISHYA SANGAMAM organised by RAV, Under AYUSH, Govt. of India.

Dr.Gokulan became the second runner up in the all Kerala Case presentation competition instituted by Nangelil Ayurveda Hospital in association with AHMA. The cashprize & Memento was presented by the Hon'le Minister for health& family welfare Smt.Sreemathi Teacher. Dr.Gokulan presented a case on "Macular degeneration associated with high myopia"

The new campus of Sudarshanam Netra Chikitsalayam celebrated its first anniversary on 30th August 2010.Surrounded by paddy fields, Sudarshanam can treat about 25 patients at a schedule & can accommodate about 6 families and having a bed strength of 15 patients.

"Ayurveda Mudra - 2010" awarded to Dr.B.G.Gokulan for the development & practice of specialty eyecare system in India for the past 2 decades. The award was given away by Hon'le minister for cultural affairs & education, Govt. of Kerala Mr.M.A.Baby at Kottayam in a function organised by 'Puranic Development Society of India'. V.N.Vasavan MLA presided over the function.

Dr.B.G.Gokulan selected as Chikitsak Guru in Netrachikitsa by RAV(Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth) New Delhi, under AYUSH, a program under Gurukula system to impart the knowledge in ayurvedic eyecare to young generation doctors in Ayurveda.

Dr.Chitra Rajan, Senoir physician, Sudarshanam attended the two day work shop on "Stree Roga" (Gynaecology) organised at Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala. A clinic is already running at Sudarshanam on Panchakarma & Stree Roga under Dr.Chitra Rajan.

The New campus of Sudarshanam Netra chikitsalayam & Ayurveda Panchakarma centre is inaugurated by South Indian Super star Bharat Suresh Gopi on 30th August 2009 at "A N J A N A M", Thymala, Manjadi PO Thiruvalla - 5. Former minister for transport Adv.Mathew T Thomas MLA was the chief guest and Jacob Vanchipalam, Thiruvalla Municipal chairman presided. Dr.G.G.Gangadharan(AYUSH,N.Delhi), Smt.Radha Pittie (Mumbai)and other dignitaries participated. The first floor IP block in memory of late 'Shri.Balkrishna Lal Pittie' was opened by Smt.RadhaPittie. A book on 'Ayurveda culture & Dharma' written by C.K.Bhargavi Amma, Vedic Scholar and Advisor to FRLHT, Bengaluru was released by Bharat Suresh Gopi by giving away the first copy to Tantri Brahmashree Akkiramon Kalidasa Bhattathiri. The function concluded with a colourful ONASSADYA (Onam feast). Sudarshanam started functioning from new campus by the next day.
